Top 10 Instagram Accounts the Future Homesteader Needs to Follow

We previously made a post answering the question on the recent trend of homesteading. Here we will dive into the top Influencers on Instagram that you need to follow if you are interested in getting started with homesteading.

Hawley Homestead

Hawley homestead offers a really good approach to modern day homesteading. This account advocates for a more traditional way of living. Topics like plant based and alternative medicine, organic grown food, homemade cosmetics, and the use of cast iron pans are a staple throughout the channel.

Hawley homestead even offers a series of videos and photos on how to make maple syrup!

Brandt_acres

This Arkansas native’s Instagram is centered mainly around gardening and chickens. He is really funny and makes enjoyable content. His content also shares tips on self sufficiency and survivalism. If you’re looking to learn more about farming, this is the channel for you.

He’s also doing some pretty neat things for his community; combating the food crisis there.

Simply Allie Homestead

This channel is perfect for the beginning homesteader! Allie documents things like gardening and baking, to preserving food and chicken raising.

She has videos on how to make sourdough bread which are simply (no pun intended) easy to follow and very enjoyable! If you are a complete beginner to the world of homesteading Simply Allie is where you should start!

Thermaland.oaks

This homesteader has literally started from the ground up. Her and her husband built their homestead by hand. Their YouTube and Instagram videos are very entertaining, showing how to homestead in modern times. They focus on living a non-toxic lifestyle, homemade recipes and DIY projects.

This channel, if anything, features what’s possible if you are determined and set your mind to it.

Emma Dawn

One of the newest accounts Farm & Flannel has started to follow, Emma Dawn is a great resource in the homesteading/homeschooling life!

A lot of her content centers around her children in the homestead, fresh produce, recipes and the animals on the farm. Make sure when you visit her channel to also check out her skincare company, Vintage Tallow!

Kristen Nicole Young

Now this account is more homemaking than homesteading, but I felt that it deserves to be a part of this list. She provides an insight of a day in the life of a stay at home mom and homemaker.

A lot of her content is faith based, which we support. This account is important if you are a stay-at-home mom.

Laura Farms

Laura Farms is an account that shows the day in the life of a girl who farms in Nebraska. Her Instagram account is just a branch of her YouTube channel where she puts much of her content.

The From Scratch Farmhouse

The clue is kind of in the name. This channel promotes recipes made completely from scratch. This account’s goal is to inspire people to ditch grocery stores and take responsibility for their own food.

A lot of the content also highlights homeschooling. This mother of 7 has many tips and tricks on how to get into homeschooling and how to teach.

Good Patriot

Good patriot is a more patriotic themed account. This woman focuses more on prepping and firearms related content. Guns are an important part of homesteading and she details their importance on her small homestead.

She also provides a network of brands and services that help the average American citizen. Her network includes things that would make you self-sufficient.

Homesteading USA

This is the last account in our list and it serves more as a promotional page for a larger audience. Homesteading USA has a popular blog that gives aspiring and current homesteaders information, recipes, and tips on how to make it work in the modern world.

They use a lot of stock photos that have a title of the blog post on it, with the link down below leading to the article. This account is a very useful tool to any aspiring homesteader.

I hope you will check these 10 accounts out as you begin on your homesteading journey!
